Your Apiable organization

Your organization is where you manage dashboard users and their roles, access groups, approval groups, your Apiable billing, and the audit log. It is your admin workspace, separate from the consumers who sign in to your API Portal.

Your organization is your admin workspace in Apiable. It is where you and your colleagues sign in to the dashboard to run your API program. You manage your dashboard users and their roles, group those users, route approvals, handle your Apiable billing, and review an audit log of what changed. You reach all of it from the Organization group in settings.

What is an organization in Apiable?

Your organization is the internal team that administers Apiable from the dashboard. It groups your dashboard users, their roles and permissions, your access groups, your approval groups, your Apiable billing, and your audit log under one workspace.

In settings, the Organization group shows your organization name and holds every page below.

Is your organization the same as your API Portal consumers?

No. Your organization is your internal admin team. Consumers are the external developers who sign in to your API Portal to discover and subscribe to your API products. The two are managed in different places and never share roles.

What can you manage in your organization?

Five pages, all under the Organization group in settings: Accounts and permissions, Groups, Approval Groups, Billing & Subscriptions, and Audit Log. Each governs a different part of how your team runs Apiable.

Accounts and permissionsInvite dashboard users, assign roles, and remove members.
GroupsPut dashboard users into access groups that scope which products they see.
Approval GroupsDefine who reviews and approves consumer requests.

Who owns an Apiable organization?

Each organization has one Organisation Owner. The owner holds every permission, cannot be removed from the organization, and is the only role that can manage the organization itself. Other members hold one or more assignable roles.

The owner is a single user, not a shareable role. Everyone else is granted roles such as Organisation Admin or Product Owner, which you assign on the Accounts and permissions page. See Members and roles for what each role can do.
