Assuming you have an existing API Management System (Apigee, Kong, Amazon, Mulesoft, etc.) that allows you to expose your APIs via an API Gateway, you can connect one of these gateways to our API portal. When you do so, you'll then see the list of APIs available on that gateway.
In Apiable, you can connect multiple API gateways. One API gateway could be a test environment, and another a production environment. Another example is a gateway connected on-premise, whilst another is in the cloud.
We determine what's a connected instance of gateway depending on the gateway type. For example, each stage you use in Amazon is considered an instance. In Kong, each IP/Port combination is an instance.
Apiable works best with an API Management System and API Gateways. We highly recommend you use one for security reasons. If you're stuck you can always contact us for help in choosing one support@apiable.io
By "API Gateway Vendor" we mean the vendor of the API Management software that you're using.

Apiable does not proxy your API calls. We do not offer our own API gateway or get involved in your API's runtime calls.
However, it is possible for us to access your log files and process those.
